Principal's Message

November, 2007

 It has been an exciting start of the year here at Boothwyn Elementary.  By now, many of you have met Eggbert, our new Eagle Mascot.  Eggbert has joined the staff as part of our Positive Support Program.  Students are being introduced to school behavior by proactively instructing expectations.  At our monthly Award Assembly, students receive prizes and awards for meeting our behavior expectations.  It has been a huge success and the students really enjoy the program.

 As I walk around the hallways of Boothwyn Elementary and see our new Language Arts Curriculum being implemented, a huge smile spreads across my face!  Our students love the wonderful new reading materials purchased for our Shared and Guided Reading Instruction.  Our teachers are now using state of the art materials to work with our students in Language Arts!  The In-Service training that our Curriculum Department has provided has been wonderful.

 Conferences will be held shortly.  Please take the time to meet with your child’s teacher and learn about his/her strengths and weaknesses.  Remember that we need you as part of your child’s learning team!  During conferences, I will be holding Parent Information Sessions for the new Standards Based Report Card.  Please stop in and learn about the exciting changes!
